Can be started indoors in winter to be transplanted outdoors in spring.....or can be sown directly into the ground in spring after last frost. This flower is unique in that it brings a whole new look to Dahlias with it's gorgeous purple/black flowers that actually appear black. Dahlias have been around for a long time.....but this extraordinary color is not easy to find. Dahlia is an accommodating plant. It will grow in almost any type of soil. This beauty likes sunshine but can still do well in partial shade. Blooms summer until first frost. Will produce bulbs that should be lifted and stored inside during the winter......to be planted again the following spring.
